Our Vision for Geography at St Teresa's
At St Teresa's we believe that high quality geography education is paramount to inspiring in our children a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people, that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. We believe that our teaching, through a rich and varied creative curriculum, will equip pupils with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth's key physical and human features.
Working as a Geographer at St Teresa's
Our children will be encouraged to:
- apply geographical skills and processes to finding, organising, selecting, analysing and interpreting primary and secondary sources of evidence
- pursue a line of enquiry to answer a relevant and engaging geographical question about an issue, place, process or topic
- construct and communicate new knowledge and understanding
- mastering key concepts, generalisations and abstract ideas
- achieve progressively more challenging subject outcomes
- generate further questions to investigate
We explore our local environment on field trips.
