Mini Vinnies

Our Mini Vinnies 2024 - 25

The St Teresa's Mini Vinnies have a love of liturgy and scripture. They are willing to be generous with their time in helping to prepare the various liturgical celebrations in the school and in supporting staff with religious preparations and ideas for whole school improvements.

“Where two of three gather in my name, there I am with them.” Matthew 18:20

The St Teresa’s Mini Vinnies hold Scripture and Gospel values at the very heart of all they do. The Mini Vinnies are an integral leadership team in our school: they are a caring and generous team who meet regularly to gather in Christ’s name and commit their actions and words to God our Father. They organise liturgical celebrations and events and hold the Word of God at the heart of all they do. St Teresa is our school’s patron saint. We know our smallest of actions, like smiling and sharing our kind words, are done with love and for the service of God. The Mini Vinnies do all they do in love, for the love of God.

The various responsibilities of our Mini Vinnies are:

  • Helping Father Riq, staff, and our community with all aspects of Liturgy
  • Leading the school in reflection and prayer
  • Coordinating school displays and events following the liturgical seasons
  • Planning special liturgical celebrations and charity events
  • Have a voice for teaching and learning in RE
  • Monitor the standards of RE in classrooms

We will always place the Word of God at the heart of our school.

Our Commissioning Mass

Congratulations to the Mini Vinnies who were commissioned into their roles at a special mass on Friday 15th November. They are such a dedicated and compassionate group of children and I know they are keen to carry out their roles by helping those most in need.

Leading by example

After the Harvest Mass, members of the Mini Vinnies volunteered to pack and deliver all the donated items to the Foodbank.

Making a difference

We held a movie night and sold tickets to our school community. We then linked up with our parish SVP and asked for their help in reaching the more vulnerable in our parish community. They were tasked with asking them what they would like for Christmas. We then used the money we raised from the movie night to purchase gifts. We had enough money left over to buy mince pies for the members of Friendship Club.

Making a difference

We raised money for SNAP, a local charity supporting children and families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. We asked our school community for donations of toys and books, and we then had a special toy sale. We checked, priced and sold the toys and had lots of fun raising money for such a special charity.
