Websites to Support Learning

World Book Day

We dressed up as our favourite book character and took part in lots of exciting activities. We planted our own 'Runaway Peas', we painted some imaginative monsters and designed our own Supertato superheroes!

We had lots of fun sharing our costumes with the rest of the school and looking at what other children dressed up as.

The Police

We had a special visitor come to tell us all about how the police help us! We even got to see and sit inside a police car!

Baxter's Birthday

Remembrance Day

For Remembrance Day, Reception class used water colour paints to create their own poppy paintings. They also made their own amazing paper plate poppies. The children learnt about what we remember on 11th November each year and what the poppy represents. Below are some examples of the art work that the youngest children in the school produced.

Our Class Baptism

Autumn Self Portraits

My Autumn Leaves

The children collected some amazing Autumn leaves during our class Autumn walk and our science garden exploration. They chose their favourite leaves and then chose paints to represent the colours in their leaves and created the most amazing prints using sponges and paints. I am sure you will agree, we certainly have some amazing artists in Reception class!

God Knows My Name and Loves Me

Our Autumn Walk

We went on an exciting Autumn Walk. We looked for signs of Autumn including different coloured leaves and acorns. We collected lots of Autumn treasures for our Autumn Self Portraits.

European Day of Languages

Reception class explored Italian on European Language day. The children learned how to say 'hello' in Italian and answered the register confidently. They then used pointillism, to create their own Italian flag. The children used inspiration from their lunchtime pizzas to create their own 3D craft pizzas. The children also learned how to say 'Hello, my name is ...' in Italian and practised writing their names.
