St Teresa’s school became an academy in July of 2012. This means that we are state funded by the Department for Education and are independent of direct control by the local authority. Whilst we are independent, we work closely with the local authority and follow the national curriculum.
The board of governors are closely involved in all spending decisions particularly those relating to pupil premium and sports funding. They regularly assess the effectiveness of the specific funding.
Pupil Premium is additional funding allocated for:
- Children who are eligible for Free School Meals due to a family receiving certain benefits
- Children with a Parent in the Armed Forces
- Looked After Children
Universal Free School Meals for Key Stage 1
Other Funding Sources
- Any other funding sources we may win.
